New Desk for my retired Sweetheart

One of the things that I have enjoyed this week is watching Marvin enjoy his new desk. Because of the settlement on my broken wrist I was able to buy this for him. Before buying the desk we have had a closet full of Marvin's awards, trophies, etc. Now the hutch part of the desk gives me a space to display them. Also displayed are several pots that we have collected as we have traveled; happy memories.

Another thing that gives me joy is a new sculpture. It is title the Good Shepherd and was sculpted by my son-in-law Jeff John. It has Christ holding in one arm a lamb that obviously loves the Savior and in the other arm a little goat that is not quite as appreciative. It reminds me that His love for us is unconditional and constant.

I wanted Jeff to see how it is displayed so I stood too far back. I need to get a better picture up close. But better yet come and see it in person!

Lisa's Good Idea

It has been a very long time since I have written anything on this blog. Our granddaughter Lisa each Saturday will post something that has made the past week better for her. I like the focus that puts on the positive and so I think I will join her. I probably won't do it on Saturday - more likely Monday- but any way once a week.

My past few weeks have been joyful by the addition of some watercolor painting. For many years I have longed to learn how to paint with watercolors. Marianne encouraged me to try and gave me lots of help. I have since signed up for a class and I have been having a field day discovering what paint and water will do. I'm not very talented but it really doesn't matter because I am painting not to sell, please a professor, or decorate my house. I am doing it just for the shear joy of doing it.

You'll have to lean your head on your left shoulder to find the Mardi Gras lady from Venice.

Until next week.
